Yes! During the checkout process, you can select the animal welfare organization you wish to support. If you don’t see the organization you’d like to support, you can suggest that group during the registration process. 

The ability to change your designated organization is coming soon. We'll let you know as soon as this feature is available in your account.

We offer a wide range of pet medications, including flea and tick prevention, heartworm medication, pain relief, antibiotics, and more. We also offer over-the-counter products and supplies.

Add the desired medication to your cart and verify the quantity. Provide us with your veterinarian’s information during checkout, then complete your order. We will follow up with your veterinarian to confirm and process the order. 

Pet prescription products are just like your own, we must have a valid prescription written by the veterinarian who sees them. This does not mean you have to have a written prescription in hand, however. If you have seen your vet, and they prescribed medication for your pet that you have not purchased yet, our pharmacy will contact them for authorization before we ship the product to you.

If you do not have a written prescription, simply select “Contact my vet” at checkout and our pharmacy will reach out for authorization before shipping.

By law, to process your prescription order, we need to have your pet’s information to verify your prescription request with your veterinarian. The required fields are essential for us to track down this verification, and the additional information is to help ensure the safety of your pet when dispensing medications. 

Following the regulations set forth by every state’s Board of Pharmacy regarding how we can accept prescriptions, the first method of contact is by automated fax. If your veterinarian does not respond via fax, we will call them for a verbal verification. 

Donations are paid to earning organizations on a quarterly basis.

No – the discount is only being made available to shelter staff and volunteers. Shelters United Pharmacy will go through a reconciliation process as the donations are getting ready to be made to ensure that this guideline is followed.
