Tali Thomas brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing, business operations, and team leadership to her role as Chief Operating Officer at Shelters United. A builder by nature, she helped establish the Shelters United program and brand identity, and today leads the organization’s strategic direction and operational excellence.
With a career spanning financial services, social media for tech startups, and animal welfare, Tali has developed deep expertise in scaling programs, managing partnerships, and driving innovative solutions that deliver measurable impact. Known for her clear communication style and motivational leadership, she inspires teams to peak performance while fostering collaboration across complex, multi-level environments.
Her strengths lie in shaping strategy and budgets, launching and scaling projects, and applying a sharp analytical lens to problem-solving. She is also deeply committed to customer and member experience, ensuring that every initiative reflects Shelters United’s mission of uniting and empowering shelters to save more pets’ lives.
Grounded in values of adaptability, resourcefulness, and continuous improvement, Tali thrives on challenge and approaches her work with both positivity and hands-on leadership. She lives in New York City with her husband and daughter, along with their adopted rescue pets – a 16 year old Israeli street cat named Chickpea that adopted Tali in 2010 and a 16-ish year old Pomeranian named FrouFrou who Tali adopted in 2023 from the Animal Haven shelter in Manhattan.
